Are you a Specialist Medical Practice Manager looking for a role with flexibility and autonomy, working in a highly professional medical environment?  If so, then this could be the role you have been waiting for!

 

The key purpose of the role is to manage the practice efficiently, including 12 Admin and Clinical employees as well as 2 Medical Specialists, both of whom are very supportive and professional. You need to have the ability to develop good working relationships with the Specialists and staff to ensure the continuation of high standards of service to their customers.

 

Reporting directly to the General Operations Manager, key responsibilities of the role include:

 

  • Being an ambassador for the clinic in continuing to build the image, foundation, culture and supporting corporate core values
  • Providing overall supervision and leadership to the team (Administration, Reception and Clinical/Technical)
  • Recruitment of administration staff and induction of new employees
  • Checking and approving employee time-sheets
  • Ongoing monitoring, training and performance management and reviewing of staff
  • Providing ongoing planning, co-ordination, monitoring and evaluation of all aspects relating to the practice and implementing improvements/changes where necessary
  • Ensuring the delivery and standard of the organisations’ processes and procedures are maintained at a high standard
  • In conjunction with the General Manager, monitor income/expenses and analyse and generate accurate statistical and financial reports; this role is responsible for regular and a variety of reporting requirements, comparing P&L statements etc.
  • Developing business plans, strategic plans and marketing initiatives in conjunction with the General Manager
  • Promotion of the business practice and services, i.e. your own ideas and those of the Medical Specialists
  • Quality Control Management and co-ordination of ISO 9001
  • Co-ordinating internal auditing of procedures and updating relevant documentation
  • Nurturing and continuing to maintain and develop strong relationships with referring practitioners

Experience and qualifications required for this role:

 

  • Previous experience in a Specialist Medical Practice management or Hospital/Day Surgery Management role
  • Strong leadership and change management experience and ability
  • Proven track record of working across all levels of a Practice to ensure harmony and engagement in all areas of the business
  • Must have Medicare and doctor referral knowledge
  • Strong  IT skills, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and if possible, ‘Blue Chip’ which is used to manage their patient database
